When I first saw Trixie struggling to survive on the streets of Pittsburgh, in the dead of winter, I couldn't pass her by. She was a waif, a skeleton, running in search of food, and for her very existence. The temperature that day was well below freezing. At approximately 9 months of age, she only weighted 9 pounds!
After 10 years of living with her, I'm still amazed by her loving good nature and gentleness. She has exceeded any expectation that I might have had, for any dog, and shattered all of my misconceptions about her breed, Pit Bull.
My mission since our first meeting is simple, to make sure that she is fed, warm, and comfortable. I rarely look at her without thinking about what she must have been through.
